Things I Miss

Today I was out grocery store and I realized that there are some things that I miss. I don't have them in my life for a good reason, I'm living on a budget. Which is very important and is helping Fred and I get out of debt. And really they are simple silly things but all the same I do miss them.

10) Pre-made Snacks
I make almost all of our snacks, cookies, pudding even our Chex Mix

9) Luna Bars

They make great breakfasts and after work out snacks

8) Fresh Bagels

One of my favorite carb foods a perfect substitute for toast.

7) Lighthouse Sugar Cookies
You know the ones that are big with 1/2 of frosting and no redeeming value, oh yeah...those cookies.

6) Not From Concentrate Juice

I do get it once and a while but not often.

5) Fresh Fruit

The most consistent fruit I get is applesauce, which I love but boy do I miss my oranges

4) Odwalla Smoothies

I really miss this one, especially the Superfood.

3) Fresh Vegetables

Canned just don't taste the same and frozen it almost as expensive

2) Cream Cheese

Bagels, banana bread, cheesecake- cream cheese is essential to these foods.

1) Fresh Blueberries

This really doesn't have much to do with the money as the location. The best blueberries are in Maine.

And I will gladly continue to give these things up if it means saving money, and getting out of debt. Some day I'm sure they will back in my life in full force but as for now I'll just miss them.

For The First Time

In a very very long time I got to go work out!!!!!! Fred and I finally were able to get our membership at the Louisville Athletic Club (LAC). The LAC is state of the art place with TONS of cardio equipment (I think it was three different rooms)a large weight area, racquetball court, basketball court, Pilate's, yoga, and spinning rooms. It is just 5 miles from home and about 2 miles from work. It is also in the same plaza as my favorite grocery store and gas station. What's interesting is that Fred and I decided that this was the gym we wanted before gas prices were so high and a consideration.

So after work I went down and had a fantastic time. I spent 20 minutes on a stationary back rested bicycle. Then 15 minutes on a full body elliptical. It not only has you running and working your legs but it changes the resistance on your arms, it also makes you push and pull at different times. It is a real full body cardio workout. I spent 15 minutes on that and managed to run a little over a mile. Usually I prefer only working out with a buddy around but today I felt completely comfortable being there on my own. Probably because everyone else in the room was too into whatever show they were watching on their unit's individual cable TV. Most of my time spent there will be playing racquetball with Fred but it will be nice to once and a while go down and do some running on my own.
GOOD SHAPE AND GOOD HEALTH HERE I COME!!!!!

Fun With The Girls

My neice, Emily, and I spent the evening showing a young woman her feminity. I know it sounds a little crazy that I was involved in this project. I'm not one that is really into all those girly things. We'll the point wasn't to make Erin girly but to show her that she really is beautiful and feminin. I was in charge of hair and make up. Actually today was just the test run. In a week or so we are going to have a photoshoot with clothes, hair, make up and a pro camera. It's going to be a lot of fun. Here are the test run photos. Erin is so beautiful!!!

Test Results Con't

Okie dokie. Today was another day to go see the doctor. (It is becoming a bi-weekly event) There is good and bad news. The good news the rest of my test results came back normal, thyroid, glucose, blood count. All that is perfectly fine, which means and here is the bad news. We still aren't quite sure what the problem is. We've gone through testing for heart, lung, cancer, diabtese, lupus, and arthritis conditions. My docotor has not given up though. We are now checking my sinuses. We are trying a nasal steriod and antihistimin to see if maybe that will help clear stuff up. As for the pain in my chest it's costcochondritis caused by whatever else is going on. So it's a secondary symptom that for the moment we just have to deal with. And in a couple of weeks if my symptoms are still present then we will have to run some CAT scans on my head and check for drainage problems. If it comes to that point I'm sure they'll see that my brain has been trying to drain out of my head for years. :) So we are still figureing my health out but I am starting to not feel so wiped.

In other news, Fred and I had the wonderful chance to see Eli play a little league game last week. Not only was it a lot of fun to watch 7-8 year olds try their hardest to play, but Eli got his first hit!!! He even made it to first base!

Although Fred and I weren't in the best of health that night it was worth the effort to see Eli's hit. After the game Dad took us out for dinner and toy shopping :) We now have a weedwacker!!!!!! I'm so excited, I still need to put it together but I'll get there. Then Eli came home with Fred and me and spend the night with us since Mom was out in Utah for Women's Conference. Eli then spent the following day hanging out with me. It wasn't the most fun he's had but there were no tears and no screaming matches.

Today also marks the day my family moved from Maine to Indiana. It's been a whole year!!!!! What a fantastic year it's been!
